Arrival

Your first days in Uppsala

  • After having formally been admitted to your programme you would receive a letter of invitation to the official enrollment (Registration Day) event. The presence is virtually obligatory since in case of no-show you would most certainly lose your place in the programme as it will be offered to the next candidate in the waiting list. Students, who are unable to attend the Registration event for any particular reason, and would still wish to enroll in the programme, are strongly adivised to get in touch with the Study councelor prior to Registration day.

  • Non-swedish students are also advised to arrive in Uppsala a week earlier to take part in the Orientation week and particularly in the Welcome Programme organised by the International office, Uppsala University for international students. This will save you a lot of time and trouble getting organised and settled in Uppsala. International students are are also offered a lift from Stockholm airport to Uppsala. You will have the possibility to join several guided tours of Uppsala (during the Orientation Week). They will take you on a walk around the city showing you the places that will allow you to save money and have a sustainable semester. The flea market, a few second-hand shops, Uppsala’s clothing library and the cheapest supermarkets are on the list.
For details keep a watch on the University central pages for new students which will be updated when details of the Welcome Programme become available.
